About Bean to Brews · The founder

Meet Ananya Ingle.

Ananya is the SCA-certified coffee roaster and educator behind Bean to Brews. She founded it to make coffee tasting feel as approachable as wine tasting, and she still leads every session herself.

Who runs Bean to Brews?

Short answer

Bean to Brews is run by founder Ananya Ingle, an SCA-certified coffee roaster and educator based in Bengaluru. She personally leads every workshop: public palate-calibration sessions at partner cafés, corporate tastings at offices across India, and café partnership events.

From homebrewer to SCA-certified roaster

Ananya started as a homebrewer. Wanting to understand coffee from the inside, she trained as a roaster at Bettr Academy in Singapore, learning the heat, time, airflow and intention behind every cup.

That roaster's view shapes her workshops. When a guest tastes blueberry or cacao, she can explain how origin, processing and roast put it there, in plain language and without the jargon.

Credentials

The Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) runs the Coffee Skills Program, a widely recognised professional pathway for coffee roasting, brewing and sensory skills. Ananya's certificates:

SCA Roasting
Foundation and Intermediate. How heat, time and airflow develop flavour, and how roasters judge and correct a roast. Trained at Bettr Academy, Singapore.
SCA Brewing
Intermediate. Extraction, strength and brew ratios: why the same coffee can taste flat or vivid depending on how it's brewed.
AWSCA Barista Bootcamp
Holistic sensory evaluation: training the palate to identify and describe aroma, acidity, sweetness, body and finish.

How she teaches

“Coffee tasting should feel as approachable as wine tasting: thoughtful, guided and enjoyable.”

Ananya's sessions favour clarity over complexity. Rather than chasing trends or scoring sheets, she helps people build a lasting relationship with coffee. Every workshop follows the same simple arc:

  1. A guided tasting flightCurated coffees tasted side by side, so the differences are obvious from the first sip.
  2. Palate calibrationSimple, repeatable techniques for naming aroma, flavour and mouthfeel, from cacao and citrus to fruit and spice.
  3. The story behind the cupHow origin, processing and roast shape flavour, in plain language.
  4. Open comparisonA relaxed, wine-table-style conversation where everyone builds a shared vocabulary.

No coffee knowledge is needed, and non-coffee drinkers are some of her favourite guests. Light-roast specialty coffee can taste like tea or fruit, which surprises almost everyone. If you want to try the method yourself first, her guide to tasting coffee like wine walks through cupping at home.
